This one’s for the times when I had to carry you on my shoulder because you were absolutely inebriated you couldn’t even stand up. The times when we argue about petty things such as dirty plates that had been in the sink for 3 days or nicking your last stick of Pall Mall reds. The times when you get angry at me because I can be quite sarcastic or aggravating when I am under the influence of alcohol. The times when you stand on my freshly washed sheets with dirty feet… And the times when you had to stand outside in freezing cold because you didn’t have a key to the bottom lock or the times when you come home after work, completely plastered, that you can’t even open the door so you’d knock for ages until I come down to open it for you.
It is sad that we have to part but I am glad that even though you’re gonna be in a different hemisphere on the other side of the world, I know that you’re going to be with the people who love you the most. I am grateful to have met an old soul like myself, the drunken times, the lonely times, the sad times and most importantly, the times when we realise how much we’ve grown as friends.
Remember that time when I made you cry by singing ‘Leaving on a jetplane’? Yeah, that was mean. You may be broke because P.I. fucked your wages so many times but you’re not leaving empty handed, my friend. You’ll be taking with you some intangible treasures, like the memories you made here in London and the awesome people you met in that shithole of a venue.
Summer 2014 is going to be even better than the whole year you spent in London. See you soon, SLAAAAAAG!
